So the concept was tot create a special illustration for him which would be representative of our friendship.

Okay fellas!

i'm back on the tracks, so please excuse me for the lack of personal time, which explain why there were no posts on this blog.

So, as you may know, I'm graduating a DMA at the Marie Curie Applicated Art School. And this means that I have to finish a short movie for the end of the year.

So, i teamed up with my friend Odysseas and we're working "hard" on the pre-production.
Our short still haven't got a name, but we have the plot.

"A thief is chased by a freaking monster after he stole a millenium cursed amulet."

Ad in order to raise your curiosity, i will post here some character designs I made for the movie.
Those are quite simple.

So we have our monster, not titled yet.

And that's all for the moment.

We have some animation essays in stock. But it'll come later.

This is my interpretation of the 2006 Pop The Glock E.P of our dear bangin' friend Uffie.
To make a long story short, I used the So_Me illustration to be more powerful, more catchy.

We were supposed to animate a character carrying and using an hammer.

Okay, this is new stuff time.

For this time, my teacher asked me to create a family, the "Tête-en-l'air" Family.
A couple of pirates helped in their trip by their two fakes-twins.
Engines, wheels was a must for me.
But i transformed it into a nuclear ship.
A sort of phantom ship hangin' around n the sky in search of treasures, quests, and fights.

I made this image on Photoshop without any patterns.
This is a pen-tool fury.

BALL BALL BALL BEHAVIOUR

Let's continue with the courses works!

The orders was to create a (very) short animation with one (or two) balls and give them a certain temper. The behaviour I gave to my round characters (BLUE & RED) was kind of... Everything.

Red is a pervert, obsessional, and angry-for-nothing sometimes.
Blue is his perfect opposite: a cool guy, well-educated but desperated of Red's comportment.

Oh! I forgot to say! I added some credits and a (quickly-made) intro!

Tonight is a special night!
You'll be able to see some parts of the short-film GAY SIDE STORY (I already talked about it a few posts ago).

Indeed, i realized a little teaser with a very special editing, 'cause the film hasn't this signification at all.
There is some parts of humor, it's just an exercise of style.

AWAY FROM THE SEA (11/9)

This is a photo-novel i created last year for my Applicated Art School (The Image Institute of the Indian Ocean, or ILOI).

A melancholic scenario, a dark ambiance based on the tragic events of the 11th of September, in 2001.

the novel has a specific photo treatment? tell me if you find it nice.

I tried to emphasize the fact that in every man's life, there is an away moment.
A moment when we can get away from everything. A moment when you can get back in your own world.

The emphasize is twined with the 11/9, when everybody had the same feeling.
The feeling that everything that every end has a start.

Two key words for that novel: city and sea.
You would understand that the sea which is quiet place represent my own world. The city more noisy is the place when the souls are converging.

JUST REMEMBER.

(You will excuse my words in this work which are in french "à l'eau de rose")

I searched for days what that drawing means or any link to Bombay... But nothing.

GAY SIDE STORY

Here is the thing:

My class has to parody a famous film with the stop-motion technique.
So, each of us had to choose a film, and work on it to make it funny.

The restrictions: simplicity, committed with a world cause & recovery materials (to make the construction of the place easier).

I chose NIKITA, the Luc Besson blockbuster, world-recognized and recently adapted into a (bad) TV serie.
And I made it a wall street and trader satyr with including WALL STREET (Oliver Stone masterpiece) and STAR WARS (George Lucas unique masterpiece) elements. Strange and curious, isn't it?

The fact is that my project wasn't selected. (Maybe I'll post the storyboard to receive your critics)

And I found myself working on a female project, entitled West Side Story. With a gay-peace message/cause.
Yes, even the film is gnan-gnan, kinda pathetic, and "à l'eau de rose", there is some cool range of colors.
Which caught my eyes and naturally brings me to show you my character designs for the parody.

The characters in the parody are gloves. (Yes, you heard me well)
The Jets (for some of you who watched the movie) are lesbians and in pink.
The Sharks are the gay-male ones. And are in blue. I transformed them into the Village People in the synopsis
To emphasize the difference :)
